Mission of the organization

The mission of the psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy clinic at the individual level is to highlight the importance of mental (emotional) health in the prevention and treatment of somatic diseases.

At the societal level, the awareness of this mission is based on the fact that promoting mental health is not only a medical issue but also a socio-cultural and political one—healthy, mature individuals oriented towards development and self-improvement are a benefit to the entire society.

The clinic was created with the aim of providing people the opportunity to receive treatment from highly professional and dedicated specialists in psychosomatic medicine/psychotherapy, as well as offering medical students and residents the chance to deeply study the diagnosis and treatment of psychosomatic disorders and diseases.

Principles of the clinic's operation

  • The doctor-psychotherapist adheres to high professional standards and the code of professional ethics in their practice.
  • The clinic’s operational principle is to do everything possible to ensure a therapeutic or healing relationship between the doctor and the patient, which helps to reach a diagnosis and continue successful treatment.
  • The doctor-psychotherapist provides consultations, performs psychotherapy, and carries out other medical activities within their professional competence. In matters and situations that fall outside the psychotherapist's professional competence, no answers will be provided.
  • Emails with insulting, aggressive, emotionally violent, or sexual content will not receive a response. Anonymity on the internet does not exempt one from responsibility.
  • Most specialists work both in person and remotely (via Zoom, WhatsApp video calls). To check whether your chosen specialist works remotely, please contact the Clinic's administration at infoatpsihosomatika[pnkts]lv or by phone at 67625655, or ask the doctor during the visit.
  • The visit can be paid for in person or by an issued invoice. If you are unable to attend a scheduled visit, depending on the situation and agreement with the doctor, a full payment for the missed visit may be requested.
  • The RSU Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy Clinic collaborates with insurance companies that may cover part or all of the visit costs.
