Aigars Vilcans obtained his Professional Master’s degree in Psychology and Psychologist qualification from the University of Latvia.
His professional journey began during his psychology studies as a trainee at the State Social Care Center "Ropaži". After graduation, he gained experience at the Adolescent Resource Center and the Crisis and Consultation Center "Skalbes".
Specialization & Approach
- Works with adolescents (14+) and adults
- Focus areas: emotional regulation, motivation, anxiety, identity, and personality-related issues
- Provides support in crisis situations, grief, and post-traumatic experiences
- Uses EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma processing and Metaphoric Associative Cards (MAK) techniques
- Consults individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts using the Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS) method

Outside of work, Aigars enjoys an active lifestyle, including electric skateboarding, hiking in mountain trails, mountain biking, and exploring culinary and cultural events with his family.
