Dr. Arturs Ancans is a certified physician-psychotherapist at the Psychosomatics Clinic, a licensed training physician, and a supervisor. He received his medical education at the Faculty of Medicine of Rīga Stradiņš University and has continued his professional development through supervision with specialists from Germany, the Netherlands, and England. He has also participated in training organized by the UK Balint Society and studied the fundamentals of Mentalization-Based Psychotherapy in collaboration with specialists from the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families (UK).

Dr. Ancans shares his knowledge and contributes to the training of aspiring psychotherapists, as well as residents in other medical specialties. He believes that helping a person regain and maintain a healthy balance in life is possible only when they are listened to, understood, and provided with a safe environment for open conversation.

He regularly participates in practical shooting competitions. Rumour has it that he occasionally plays the piano. He is also a former member of the Rīga Stradiņš University Student Council.
