Dr.med. Velga Sudraba is a Doctor of Medical Sciences (Dr. med.), a certified psychotherapist and addiction specialist by the Latvian Medical Association, and a lecturer at RSU.

She is also a supervisor in the psychodynamic approach, the author of numerous scientific publications, a co-author of several monographs, and a scientific editor. She has been working in psychotherapy and addiction medicine since 1993, when she obtained her medical degree from the Latvian Academy of Medicine.

For 20 years, she worked in the Minnesota Program department with patients struggling with addiction.
